Oopsy Daze

Getting your kid properly dressed for school is a lot like a reality show. There are screams. There are tears. There are tussles over sequin tutus and glitter tiaras (way more Boo Boo than Honey in your book).

Thank goodness for Oopsy Daze, a new locally designed keiki apparel line with a true rags-to-britches story. Hawaii Kai designer Dixie Rose made a pair of printed harem pants for her son, Phoenix. Said pants (and son) were posted on Instagram. Said Instagram got picked up by Buzzfeed. The rest is history.

And by history, we mean a debut collection of trendy, playground-friendly separates that both boys and girls can rock. Choose from three graphic tees emblazoned with fun phrases like "Crazy coconut," "Oops! My bad" and variations of "Aloha," then pair with comfy harem pants in faux denim or crazy striped prints with equally snazzy reversible cuffs. Rose is adding more styles soon, plus a fringe poncho for girls and tailored vest for boys.

Whatever the combo, your keiki will be the coolest kid in school.

Make no mistake about it.

Oopsy Daze tees $20, pants $30, available online at OopsyDazeKids.com.
