What do you mean you don't have any pumpkin-flavored cocktails?
Lucky for you, Salt Bar & Kitchen and 12th Ave Grill are offering up their own scrumptious drink recipes, both filled with the soothing fall flavors of pumpkin and warm baking spices. Either one is bound to raise all sorts of spirits at your soirée.
1// Pumpkin Spiced Cocktail
Created by Michael Sweitzer, Lead Bartender, Salt Bar & Kitchen
1 oz. pumpkin pie purée*
1.5 oz. rum
.5 oz. Benedictine
1 egg white
.5 oz. heavy cream
"Shake the hell out of it, fine strain, then fresh grate nutmeg on top."
*Salt makes the purée in house with roasted pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon and allspice.
2// Jolly Pumpkin

Orgeat, or almond, syrup
Heavy pinch of cardamom, nutmeg and cinnamon
Simmer to reduce, then cool. Make the base just before the cocktail.
2 parts pumpkin spice base (above)
1 1/2 parts Rittenhouse Rye whiskey
1 part rhum agricole
Dash of Mike's secret bitters (substitute with allspice dram and Angostura bitters)
Pour 3.5 oz. of the mixture in a shaker with ice, give a quick, hard shake, then double strain into a coupe glass. Top with ground cinnamon.
