Shore Things

You may be local, but lately you’ve been dressing like a real Jersey Girl.
A stretch jersey girl to be exact. You’re not sure how it happened. But, somewhere along the line, you amassed a wardrobe of thirty variations on the same solid color tank dress.
For a fresh take on island style, check out the newly launched Tiare Hawai‘i clothing line, chock full of pretty, bohemian-chic pieces sure to cure you of that LJD (little jersey dress) compulsion.
Designer Jane Hoskins hails from the cowboy-loving, boot-rocking state of Texas. But that doesn’t make her any less of an island girl. Her hometown is South Padre, an island off the state’s southern tip where Hoskins grew up more interested in sand and surf than barbeque and big hair. Then, while studying biology at UH Manoa she inadvertently fell in love with the just-for-fun design classes she had been taking on the side.
Her new line combines the casual beachy look you love with extra details that make her flirty frocks stand out from the rest. Slip on a tie-dyed maxi or one of the breezy rayon tunics embellished with hand-embroidered eyelet. Or, party it up in one of the sleek silk sheaths, dip-dyed three different shades and trimmed in lace.
All perfect finds to put you in a Hawai‘i state of mind.
Select Tiare Hawai‘i styles are available on O‘ahu at San Lorenzo Pucks Alley and Shasa Emporium at Kahala Mall and on Maui at Pink by Nature and the Biasa Rose Boutique. For more info, call 808.722.4146. And keep an eye out for the Tiare Hawai‘i website coming soon.
