Mix Master

Lei Chic Your style was climbing the charts until everyone started rocking your looks.

It started with new thigh highs that proved your boots were made for mocking. Just days after donning your new KARL fingerless pieces you had to ask several friends to justify their gloves. But when five people showed up in your new schoolgirl skirt it was time for a pleat escape.

Get back into the battle of the brands with a trip to Mod Vintage.

Lei ChicThe label-packed shop just opened in the former Nini’s Exchange on Koko Head Avenue. Owner Silvana Alfonso, the DJ that keeps the party going at Brasserie du Vin’s Noir and BambuTwo, stocked it with items she’s collected in hot spots such as New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii, and her native Italy for a selection that kicks it old cool.

Mix it up with sheer Emporio Armani tops, hot pink Valentino jeans, and Escada blouses. Fade into the ladylike structured dresses, flowy skirts, and sweet, feminine sweaters. You’ll get on your feet for the adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes, red leather pants, or new designs by Lei ChicRoberta Oaks and NeleK. And the cloche hats, acrylic bangles, enamel pins, will definitely make your hit list.

Alfonso spins some of the looks by altering buttons, hemlines, and shapes. She'll also buy or trade your old favorites for new loves.

So it’s simple to ditch your groupies.

And regain your frock star status.

Mod Vintage is open Monday –Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. at 1154 Koko Head Avenue. Call 808.224.2642 or go to Mod Vintage’s facebook page for more information.
