Lei Chic’s Holiday Gift Guide for Kids

Adorable little things for the adorable, little thing in your life.

For being so small, the munchkins in your life sure get the largest piece of the gift-giving pie. Maybe it’s because those big eyes make you melt. Or because that laugh brightens the most terrible of days. Or because, honestly, kids’ toys and teeny onesies are as much fun for them to use as they are for you to buy.

In any event, you have a big task ahead of you tackling Christmas shopping for all those little ones (is it just us, or are our friends multiplying at a way faster rate than last year?). We’re here to help. Kids of all ages will love these 12 presents, each with big appeal.

Small wonder we love them so much.

1. Precious, locally made Sea Wee headbands, complete with bows, come in fun, whimsical prints, such as this pineapple one. $15, 3rd Ave. Shore, 171 Hāmākua Drive, Kailua

2. They’re not slaves to time yet, but that doesn’t mean kids can’t rock timepiece bling such as these Ah Quel Plaisir soft watches. $30, Petit at the Royal, Royal Hawaiian Hotel

3. We love the folksy tribal print on this handmade Hi‘ilani A Baby Story blanket, burpee and bib set. Blanket, $50, burpee and bib, $14 each, Sugarcane Shop, 1137 11th Ave., Suite 101

4. The older kids need some love too—this skateboard from Of One Sea is beautifully handcrafted out of beech hardwood with retro color-blocking details. $350, ofonesea.com

5. Not only will the kids have a blast playing with the arrows from this Seedling I Can Design My Own Bow & Arrow kit, but they’ll have a blast making them—and we’re all about getting their creative juices flowing. $26.99, Green Mountain, 2819 Ka‘onawai Place, C-2

6. All natural, with a lovely minimal design and rich, natural finish, these wooden Soopsori rattle blocks have rounded edges for teeny hands. $36.95, The Honolulu Museum of Art Spalding House Shop, 2411 Makiki Heights Drive

7. Start her shoe collection early: We can’t decide if we love the camo or gold Freshly Picked moccasins more. Best to just go for both. $60, Nordstrom, Ala Moana Center

8. Your little miss will go cuckoo for these heart-shaped, rhinestone-studded Bling20 swimming goggles, fit for a princess of the sea. $26, Rebecca Beach, Royal Hawaiian Hotel

9. A puppy? No thanks. But if your keiki are dying for a pet, this Back to the Basics aquaponics mini garden is a fun two-in-one for activities. Think of it as a test: If they can keep their fish and plants healthy, your kiddo just may be ready for a puppy. In a few years, that is. $59, PetCo., 1121 Beretania St.

10. Even if your children are not scared of the dark, they won’t want to turn this fun elephant-shaped Zzzooo light off at night—it’s just that cute. $70, Honolulu Museum of Art Shop, 900 S. Beretania St.

11. We fell head-over-heels for this soft Maileg pirate rattle and pirate ship for its special details (a corduroy hull!) and safe, plush materials. $18 each, South Shore Paperie, 1016 Kapahulu Ave.

12. Like we said, we’re all about pushing little minds to think big and creative. This illustrate-it-yourself Flora Fairy’s Big Ideas book is perfect for that. $10, Cinnamon Girl, Pearlridge Center
