Just right—that’s what LJA feels like to its students, parents and faculty. With nearly 825 students from preschool to grade 12, it’s a place for learning that’s not too big and not too small. LJA is a community, where everyone is treated like family and opportunities stretch as far as students can imagine.
This balanced approach to learning and living is cultivated from the school’s International Baccalaureate (IB) accreditation. The program encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world. The academic curriculum is designed to prepare students for the rigorous standards of universities and colleges, as well as for the opportunities and demands of life.
This fall, our 2018 graduates will be continuing their journey of learning at Stanford University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, Northwestern University, Berklee College of Music, Purdue University, Harvey Mudd College and Boston University, just to name a few.
Here are a few more statistics of our Class of 2018:
• 60 of our 65 graduates will be attending a 4-year college or university
• 55 of those students will be leaving Hawai‘i for post-secondary opportunities
• 4 students will be leaving the country to study in Scotland, Canada, Japan and England
“It has been an honor and pleasure working with the students of the Class of 2018,” says Condon. “They are talented, kind, caring, creative and respectful. They have proven that they are hardworking, committed and resilient and we wish them success in all their future endeavors.”
