New Bar: Bacchus Waikiki Opens on Lewers
Photos: Soni Kohut
Bacchus Waikiki is opening on Lewers Street this Sunday night with its grand opening party from 4 to 9 p.m. Bacchus is a gay bar, and its location takes the place of Pane & Vino, which was a very dimly-lit Italian restaurant known most for its wine. Bacchus has kept the rustic main interior, but on my visit, the windows were open to the light, music videos were being streamed on the bar's TVs and, the biggest difference, no food is served here.
Drink menus and specials are to be determined, as well as what type of promotions they will be running. However, they do have plans for a deejay—and, I did overhear a mention of a removable stripper pole. With no cover charge, friendly patrons and reasonably priced drinks, this happy bar already has repeat customers, including me.
The bar provides a wide selection of liquor, with some wine options.
A private room for groups.
