Higgins Harte International Galleries presents the artwork of Anthony Hopkins at its Waikiki Business Plaza location. Yes, the Academy Award winner is not only an actor, but also an artist. There will be two public exhibitions of Hopkins’ collection on April 28 and on May 26, leading up to a VIP event happening on June 9—a private event for collectors with Hopkins in attendance.

“There’s no greater pleasure than being able to showcase my artwork in Hawaii,” Hopkins said. “My visits have always been enjoyable and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to meet the people who are collecting and appreciate my work.”

Hopkins’ exhibit showcases his ink drawings and acrylic paintings inspired by his travels through the American Southwest, and also dabbles in “closed eye drawings.” Limited edition serigraphs will be available for sale, all hand signed and numbered. One, a brightly colored inked image of orange and red, is titled “Aloha Nui Loa.”

April 28 and May 26, 2011, open to the public, 6 to 8 p.m., Higgins Harte International Galleries, Waikiki Business Plaza, 2142 Kalakaua Ave.
