New condo in Kapahulu set for Fall 2013

If you’re looking to buy a home in Honolulu’s Kapahulu neighborhood, many of your choices are limited to older homes or condominiums. However, I recently learned about the development of a brand-new condo slated to be finished by the fall of next year.

Leialoha Parkside will be a three-story apartment building with nine two-bedroom, one-bathroom units. Centrally located, you’ll be able to easily walk to restaurants, shopping and Safeway. And, warm malasadas are just a block and a half away at Leonard’s Bakery. So tempting!

Ranging from 558 to 593 square feet, each condo will feature an in-unit washer/dryer, granite countertops and a range with a microwave. Some of the units will have small lanais.

The maintenance fee is projected to be a reasonable $225 to $245 a month. There will be 10 parking stalls on the property, one for each unit, along with a guest stall.

While there aren’t really any amenities such as a pool, the building is across the street from Crane Community Park where kids can have fun on the playground, play basketball or you can snag a picnic table for lunch while taking in a softball game.

If you’re interested, nonbinding preregistration reservations are being accepted – only two units are still available.

Money talk: Prices range from $338,500 to $342,500
