Green views in Lower Nuuanu

Though high-floor units with sweeping city views are often more desirable than their low-floor brethren, this fifth-floor condo at Craigside caught my eye with its lush green views. Click here for details.

Located in Lower Nuuanu, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit offers the convenience of being less than 10 minutes from downtown Honolulu but with the feeling you’re out of the city in a tranquil setting.

Remodeled in 2011, the kitchen features granite kitchen countertops and there’s attractive wood laminate flooring throughout, except in the kitchen and bathrooms.

I particularly like the sitting area in the master bathroom. You can primp and preen without having to lean over the sink or worry about washing a contact lens down the drain.

The 205-square-foot lanai is spacious enough to create a comfortable seating area, a great place to take in the greenery or listen to the sounds of the nearby Nuuanu Stream.

Designed by architect Norman Lacayo, whose credits include Honolulu’s Harbor Court and Honolulu Tower Condominium, Craigside’s amenities include an exercise room, a pool, a sauna, a BBQ area and a tennis court.

One of the things I like about the Craigside is that each floor has only two units, so the floors are more private since it’s just you and your neighbor.

Fuzz factor: Your fur children are welcome, the building is pet friendly.

The price includes two covered parking stalls, which are side-by-side. There’s also plenty of guest parking for when family or friends come to visit.

Money talk: $675,000 fee simple
