Three-level luxury penthouse in Kakaako
In August, I wrote about a split-level penthouse in Moiliili, which included a private rooftop lanai. Since there are only a handful of those types of condos in Honolulu, I was intrigued when another came across my desk. Located in the posh Nauru Tower in Kakaako, it’s more than five times the price of the previous one I wrote about, once you take a peek inside, you’ll see why.
Just listed yesterday, the 2,752-square-foot penthouse boasts floor-to-ceiling windows throughout offering soaring views of the ocean and Ala Moana Beach Park from almost everywhere in the unit. Making the vista more dramatic is the double-height ceiling in the living room; it feels as if you’re keeping company with the clouds.
“This is only the third Nauru Tower top-floor penthouse to come on the market since the original sales,” says realtor Sachiyo Braden of Sachi Hawaii Pacific Century Properties. “Combine that with east to west ocean views, high-end furnishings, its immaculate condition, and you have a unit that’s pretty special.”
In preparation for putting it on the market, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo was professionally staged and furnished. Its original marble tile flooring, which lines the entire space, is so glossy it’s distracting. Oooh, shiny!
Braden also mentioned the 833-square-foot rooftop lanai is largely sheltered from the elements, being on the south side of the building, making it a great spot for entertaining or a quiet place to relax.
Built in 1990, Nauru Tower’s penthouses begin on the 34th floor; however, only the top-floor units have a split-level living area and a private rooftop lanai. Amenities include a swimming pool, a whirlpool, a tennis court and a barbecue area. The condo comes with two covered parking stalls.
Its location puts you within walking distance of lots of restaurants, Ala Moana and Ward Centers, and you’re across the street from the park and beach.
The penthouse will be shown by appointment. Click here for details.
