Open house pick of the week: Hawaii Kai

Sunday is Chinese New Year's Eve, so you may want to check out some auspicious-looking homes to get into the mood. This one, right on the Hawaii Kai marina, seems to fit the bill. (Click here for details.)

It's a large, two-story home, encompassing 3,557 square feet of living area on a 7,670-square-foot lot. The entire first level features hardwood floors, and the second level is carpeted. It almost looks like the place hasn't been lived in—the floors are so sparkling and clean.

The rooms are all spacious, with a flowing, open floor plan to let the chi (energy) flow freely. The 17-foot ceilings in the living room and den provide a lot of "zen" space, mentally and physically.

There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and a large lanai overlooking the marina so you can watch the ducks float by. It has a nice yard and patio below for entertaining, and private access to its own floating dock.

Happy house hunting, and happy new year!

Money talk: $1,745,000 fee simple
