National poll of iconic state drinks stiffs our sophisticated, historic mai tai for a simplistic tea-based cocktail. But we don’t care, do we?

“So what?” That was our thought when learning that South Carolina’s state drink topped a survey of 1,000 drinkers with a sweet tea and vodka concoction. It’s about as complicated as spiking your coffee with rye. But what does this say about the voters, whoever they are?


The whole ridiculous clickbait poll is below. But we suggest you first read our ode to the mai tai and then go straight to your favorite watering hole for a taste of the real thing.
