Meet the Boozy Brand That’s Bringing Ready-to-Drink Craft Cocktails to Hawai‘i

There’s nothing quite like the power of a skillfully made, delightfully strong drink to put you in the best of spirits. Typically, when in the mood for one your first thought would be to head to your favorite cocktail bar, not your nearest Foodland. But thanks to one Dallas-based brand, bar-quality Old Fashioneds, Mai Tais and margaritas can now be enjoyed anytime, and anywhere the bartender isn’t.

Founded in 2015, On the Rocks Premium Cocktails is relatively new to the market, but it’s already becoming one of the fastest-growing companies of its kind. Unlike the syrupy-sweet, artificially flavored, bottom-shelf spiked drinks commonly found at the store, OTR cocktails are made with quality spirits, all-natural ingredients and no artificial flavoring. And a high ABV (between 20 and 30%, depending on the cocktail) means no added preservatives—alcohol does the job. The result: A fresh, punchy, bar-quality libation right out of the bottle.

Hawaiian Airlines became OTR’s first airline customer in 2016 and currently serves three exclusive in-flight cocktails—the Tropical Landing, Mai Tai and Moloka‘i Mule—on North America and Neighbor Island flights. But for those without immediate travel plans, OTR can be found in several stores across O‘ahu, including:

  • Safeway: Kapahulu and Beretania locations

  • Whole Foods Market: Kailua, Wai‘alae and Queen locations

  • Foodland: Ala Moana and Kailua locations

  • Holoholo Market in South Shore Market

The brand is also available across Neighbor Islands, including several KTA Super Stores and at the Hyatt Regency Maui, Four Seasons Lānai and the Grand Wailea Resort. For a complete list of retail locations in Hawai‘i, visit ontherockscocktails.com/find-us.
