Her book, Do One Green Thing aims to turn our mere good intentions into real, green action with realistic suggestions: wash your laundry in cold water, which uses 90 percent less energy than hot; and inspiring facts: If all Americans skipped red meat one day a week, it would reduce carbon emissions equal to taking 20 million midsize cars off the road for a year.
