12th Ave Grill's Spanish Wine DInner

Taste modern Spain on Monday,October 18th 2010 at 12th Ave Grill.


2008 "Tres Picos".

The restaurant will highlight a selection of modern Spanish wines in a four course wine dinner.

The wines feature traditional Spanish grapes in their most current winemaking style including an Estate bottled Vintage Cava, the vibrant acidity of Verdejo, and two regions of Granache and  Rioja. Then end with a nod to the past with a 1927 Alvear PX Sherry Solera Jerez.

Amuse Bouche

Blue Crab Fritter
Paired with 2005 Marques de Gelida Cava Brut Riserva

First Course

Sauteed Big Island Wild Boar Sausage and Mussels
with White Beans and Kale
Paired with 2009 Shaya Verdejo Rueda

Second Course

Buttermilk Fried Rabbit
with Saffron Aioli
Paired with 2008 Ateca Grenache "Ateca Old Vines" Catalayud and 2008 Borsao Grenache "Tres Picos" Campo de Borja

Third Course

Slow Roased Lamb Shoulder
with Charred Tomatoes, Peppers & Olives
Paired with 2005 Sierra Cantabria Rioja "Colleccion Privada"

Or compare these classic Tempranillo and add a 2004 Torre Muga Rioja "Torre Muga" (Wine Spectator's Top 11 of 100 wines of 2008, 96pts)  for an additional $10.

The four course menu with wine pairings is available for $65 per person, plus tax and tip (*or add the optional 2004 "Torre Muga" for $10 more).

Two hour seatings at 5:30 and 6 p.m. or  7:30 and 8 p.m.
