Koko Marina Center Chili Cook-Off
Koko Marina Center will host the third annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday, April 24th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Marina Courtyard. The event features a number of Hale Aina Award-winning restaurants serving up their unique chili concoctions and other delicious culinary treats.
The event is produced by Partymasters Hawaii.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, the Lokahi Giving project and other local charities.
Hale Aina Award-winning chefs including Russell Siu and D.K. Kodama will compete for the coveted title of Chili King with such categories as “Absolut Best Chili”, “Best Use of Local Products” and “People’s Choice”.
The event will feature food stations from the following restaurants (Hale Aina Winners in bold):
- Beach House at the Moana
- d.k. Steak House
- Good to Grill
- Hank’s Haute Dog
- JJ Bistro & French Bakery
- Kaiulani’s Spices
- Kakaako Kitchen
- Kona Brewing Co.
- Señor Frogs
- Soul de Cuba
- Therapy Sportsgrill
- The Willow’s Restaurant
In addition to all of the food, the celebration will include a special "Chil-lax Lounge" featuring an opportunity to taste 14 beers from around the world, wine, and Absolut vodka and Malibu Rum cocktails including the new Absolut Berri Acai.
Tasting tickets can be purchased for $2 each and are good for chili, beer and wine. Cocktails are priced starting at $4.
The event will also feature great entertainment from Maunalua and Halau Hula o Leolani, marina boat rides (for a nominal fee), keiki activities, massages and a chance to win a Neighbor Island Getaway.
Pre-sale tickets are also available and include 5 chili tasting tickets and a beer or soft drink.
