A Steal on Designer Bags

It looked tranquil on the outside, but when I ventured into the new location of Paris Station, the boutique was buzzing with activity, particularly around the Louis Vuitton shelf. The store carries pre-owned, designer handbags, by the likes of Gucci, Fendi, Christian Dior and Chanel.

Unlike some stores, though, the bags here are so pristine, no one will ever know you didn’t buy it at full retail. “We purchase the bags outright,” explains owner Cindy Young. “It’s not on consignment. We handpick just what we want and what we think will sell, based on style, condition and brand.” You’ll save 20 to 70 percent off retail buying here, depending on the bag. Also shop for sunglasses, wallets, shoes and a limited amount of clothing. But clearly, handbags are the star here.

If you’re looking to get an unused bag out of your closet, be sure to make an appointment first, and bring any supporting materials—receipts, dustbags, tags—that you have. Young says you are welcome to trade in a bag for other ones in the store, as well as sell them outright. Mon. to Sat., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  6947 Keeaumoku St., at the corner of South King Street.
