Feast for Farms Benefit Dinner
Saturday, Oct. 5, 5 to 9 p.m.
Don your lederhosen (we know you’ve been dying to) for the Oktoberfest-themed dinner at Kahumana Organic Farms. The quarterly fundraiser for the 501(c)(3) nonprofit always includes live entertainment and lots of food. This Saturday, that translates into family-style platters of pretzels, sausages, spaetzle, sauerkraut and kegs of beer to go with the on-site oompah band. We hear rumblings of a keg toss competition so make sure to stretch before you go.

Full disclosure: We’re playing “Could’ve Been” while writing this. Can you blame us? Mall pop queen-turned-sophisticated songwriter Tiffany plays four shows at Blue Note Hawai‘i showcasing past hits and her 10th album, Pieces of Me. Don’t worry about going solo. We guarantee you won’t be alone now.

Sunday Polo Match at the Honolulu Polo Club
Sunday, Oct. 6, 3 p.m. Gates open at 1 p.m.
Here’s your bar trivia for the day. Gen. George Patton kept polo ponies at Schofield Barracks. His language at games in the ’20s and ’30s was reportedly colorful, but things will undoubtedly be more civilized at the match bearing his name at the Waimānalo polo field. Go early to tailgate and get familiar with the sport of kings. You’ll only have to pony up $7 for admission and kids 15 years and younger and military are free.

45th Annual Honolulu Intertribal Powwow
Saturday, Oct. 5 and Sunday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Drums, dancing, crafts, music—the annual celebration is a rare opportunity to experience Native American culture in the Islands. The headliners this year are the LGG Ts’mysen dancers from Anchorage, Alaska. And remember to pick up a snack. After all, everything is better with a side of frybread.

Canstruction at Kāhala Mall
Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Here’s inspiration for your next pantry cleanup. Members of the American Institute of Architects Honolulu will start building their intricate can structures at Kāhala Mall this weekend. Kids can help build a sculpture on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Keiki Corner. Stop by to gawk and vote for your favorite until next Saturday. After that, all the cans will come down to be donated to the Hawai‘i Foodbank.
