Fourth Annual Walk on the Wild Side
Saturday, March 23, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Did you know that more than 198,000 people in Hawai‘i have kidney disease? March is National Kidney Month and the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaiʻi is hosting its annual Walk on the Wild Side. There will be live entertainment, children’s activities, free vision and kidney screenings, performances at the Hawai‘i Theatre and more. Those who join the historical mystery walk ($25) will get to learn more about the landmarks and culture of the Chinatown area, and will receive a swag bag of prizes valued at more than $100.

Something Rotten

Diamond Head Theatre says it’s the first community theater to perform this Broadway spoof of Shakespeare, musical dramatics and more. Set in the 1590s, the 10-time Tony-nominated Something Rotten follows two playwrights living in the shadow of one of history’s greatest English writers: William Shakespeare. When a local soothsayer foretells the next hot trend in theater—performances incorporating song and dance—brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom use his prediction to write the world’s first musical.

Hawai‘i State Art Museum’s monthly artist talk takes place every last Wednesday of the month and gives art lovers the chance to meet local artists currently making waves in Hawai‘i’s creative scene. This March, guests can enjoy free presentations by Jamie Allen (@jamierallenstudio) and Licia McDonald (@liciamcdonald.kauai) in the second-floor museum galleries, followed by a reception on the ground floor hosted by the HiSAM Museum Gallery Shop x Mori by Art + Flea.
