Actor, stand-up comedian, licensed physician. We first met the Korean American comedian when he burst out of the trunk of a car, naked, as the foul-mouthed gang kingpin, Mr. Chow, in The Hangover. But it was his hilarious six-season gig as Spanish teacher, Señor Chang, on NBC’s Community that hooked us. What’s the doctor been up to recently? Aside from being a judge on both the U.S. and U.K. versions of The Masked Singer, Jeong and his on-screen daughter, Awkwafina, took turns stealing scenes in Crazy Rich Asians. And this weekend, he’s in town for one night of comedy—and the show is almost totally sold out. Snag one of the last remaining tickets for a night of silliness.

Color Vibe 5K

Monday, January 20, 9 a.m.

It takes determination, persistence, focus and stamina to dominate a long-distance race. This is not one of those races. Participants of this 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) fun run will be doused with vibrant colored powders. It’s an ideal look for the colorful dance party at the finish line.

Art Wave: Wahine Art Exhibition

Saturday, January 18, 6–9 p.m.

On the day of the third Women’s March in D.C., celebrate two wahine at this Greenroom exhibition: Margaret Rice and Kristen Hook of Lola Pilar Hawai‘i. Both Rice, the illustrator who focuses on bold colors, local scenery and objects and the feminine form, and Hook, a photographer who uses Hawaiian tapestry as inspiration for her floral and fruit flat lays, will showcase new original artwork alongside some open edition prints. Rice and Hook will be around to talk story and sign their work.

HURT 100

Saturday, January 18–19

This weekend marks the 20th year that the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team will host its 100-mile endurance run (aptly nicknamed “HURT 100”), which consists of five 20-mile laps on trails connecting the Mānoa, Makiki, and Nu‘uanu valleys. Runners have a maximum of 36 hours to complete the run. The registration period closed in July of last year; the runners were selected later through a lottery system. That being said, event organizers still need volunteers to man designated aid stations. Sign up for a six- to eight-hour shift to assist the 125 trail runners along the muddy and wet terrain.
