Pāhonu Pond Restoration Volunteer Day
Saturday, February 29, 3-5 p.m.
Spend the afternoon in waters off the Windward Side and help restore the wall of a centuries-old pond. The Waimānalo Limu Hui holds these pā restoration days quarterly at Pāhonu to restack the rocks that have been tumbling down the sides. Anyone with masonry experience is especially needed but all are welcome. Bring tabis, clothes don’t mind getting wet, and don’t forget the sunglasses and reef-safe sunscreen.

Hawaiʻi Craft Beer Week Festival
Saturday, February 29, 6-9 p.m.
If you didn’t make it to any of the craft beer events this week, well, you missed out. But you can still tap into the excitement around local brews at the ending festival. Take your collectible sampling glass around to sip more than 40 beers by local breweries including Aloha Beer Co., Beer Lab HI, the new Bent Tail Brewery (who won the “Townies” Battle of the IPAs last Saturday), Kauaʻi Island Brewing, Koholā Brewery, Ola Brew Co. and more. Designated drivers receive discounted tickets. Online ticket sales end at 5 p.m. on Saturday, which is when the VIP ticketholders will be making a beeline to the brewers. Bring cash for food trucks and for the $5 parking.

Aloha Comedy Festival
Thursday, February 27 through Saturday, February 29
Local favorites and comedy club headliners from across the U.S. and Canada are in the Islands for this first ever event. Paws on the Path Hawaiʻi Dog Hiking Club
Saturday, February 29, 8 a.m.
Grab a leash and some hiking shoes for a walk with your fur friend and a new pack of fellow dog lovers. February’s edition of this animal-friendly hike with the Hawaiian Humane Society also includes a photo scavenger hunt: the theme is “Sherlock Bones.” Dressing the part is up to you.

Super American Circus

Admit it: Sometimes you still want to run away with the circus. That’s not really an option here but you can indulge your big top dreams this weekend with the return of this traveling show. Expect lots of aerial and balancing acts, including a chance to see Blake Wallenda live just a few weeks after his traffic-stopping high-wire walk at Ala Moana Hotel. Note that the cheaper tickets are general admission, which means seats in the Blaisdell’s upper levels are first come, first served.

The Music of Billy Joel Starring Michael Cavanaugh

A new piano man is in town and he is taking on the music of a master. Michael Cavanaugh joins the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra for a single show featuring Billy Joel’s songs. Joel picked Cavanaugh to star in his Broadway musical Movin’ Out. This performance will show you why.
