HONOLULU Family Fun Run Presented by Mobi
Saturday, March 2, 7 to 9 a.m.
Online registration ends Feb. 27 at midnight! Lace up your shoes for the HONOLULU Family Fun Run this Saturday, 7 to 9 a.m., at Magic Island. This timed 5K around Ala Moana Beach Park features selfie stops, snack stations and entertainment that all ages—whether you’re a seasoned runner or exercise newbie—can enjoy. Special prizes, including an iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro and Apple watch, will be awarded to each of the top three female and male finishers. An additional 500-meter dash is open to all keiki ages 3 to 10. After your sweat sesh, head over to the keiki fun zone for games, a bouncy house and lots more.
TIP: Missed the deadline to register online? Head to the race early and stop by the registration booth. We’ll be taking last-minute sign-ups starting from 5:30 a.m.

2019 Honolulu Kabuki

If you’ve ever wanted to experience an authentic kabuki performance, now’s your chance. For the first time in 52 years, Honolulu has a chance to experience the traditional Japanese performance art as famed kabuki master Shikan Nakamura VIII, joined by sons Hashinosuke, Fukunosuke and Utanosuke, takes the stage Saturday, March 2, through Wednesday, March 6, at UH Mānoa’s Kennedy Theatre, and Friday, March 8, at the Hawai‘i Convention Center. Experience the heartwarming kabuki classic Renjishi, performed by the father-sons troupe with all of the ornate costumes, stunning makeup and grandiose backdrops characteristic of the iconic Japanese art form.

Augie T’s Last Stand

This time it’s really happening. Augie T closes out his farewell-to-stand-up tour with local comedy giants Andy Bumatai and Frank DeLima. For the end of his 27-year stand-up career, the comedian promises his characteristic clean humor, some of his greatest hits and more than a few last laughs.
