Super Bowl Sunday at Pitch Sports Bar

Sunday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m.

You and your friends all love Super Bowl Sunday. What you don’t love, however, is the messy aftermath of a Super Bowl Sunday party. If you’re still unearthing last year’s rogue Tostitos crumbs from the couch, consider moving your bash to Pitch Sports Bar at Salt at Our Kaka‘ako. The bar teams up with Bud Light and ESPN 1420 for a Super Bowl Sunday starting at 11 a.m. with pregame entertainment, games, giveaways and more, held in Salt’s barn area. We suggest you come early, as open seating is first-come, first-served, though there will be ample standing room. Those who want guaranteed spots can reserve a premium table for $100, which seats six and comes with a pūpū platter.

Wayfinders Weekend at Bishop Museum

Saturday, Feb. 3, and Sunday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Before there was GPS, Google Maps or even compasses, voyagers navigated the shining sea the old school way, using the wind, waves and stars as their guide. Bishop Museum shares the art and science behind wayfinding this weekend through hands-on learning stations, a virtual reality experience aboard the Hōkūle‘a and its new exhibit, Holo Moana: Generations of Voyaging, which chronicles the centuries-old practice of navigation by Hawaiian and Oceanic voyagers. Visitors can also talk story with members of the Polynesian Voyaging Society and hear firsthand experiences of traditional navigation.
