Losing a loved one is never easy. Whether it’s a relative, friend or pet, Lantern Floating Hawai‘i, held on Memorial Day each year, is a beautiful opportunity to remember those we’ve lost and celebrate life’s many gifts. After a blessing by Her Holiness Shinso-Ito, head of Buddhist school Shinnyo-en, floating lanterns—decorated with photos and messages to those who have passed—are placed in the ocean from Ala Moana Beach Park. The Magic of Adam Trent

Adam Trent, known as The Futurist, has his own spin on magic incorporating traditional tricks, technology and stunts. With a combination of comedy, performance and illusions, Trent invites the audience to join in the magic-making. You never know what tricks he’ll have up his sleeve.
