What’s Open or Closed in Honolulu on Statehood Day

Here is a list of city services that will be available or suspended in observance of Hawaii’s Statehood Day on Aug. 15, 2014.

CLOSED 

  • City and County of Honolulu offices

  • Satellite City Halls and Driver’s License locations 

  • The People’s Open Markets will be canceled.
     

OPEN/AVAILABLE 

  • Emergency ambulance, fire, lifeguard and police services

  • Landfills and transfer stations

  • Municipal golf courses

  • Botanical gardens

  • Honolulu Zoo

  • Neal S. Blaisdell Center box office

  • Trash will be collected. 
     

LIMITED SERVICE

  • TheBus will operate on a state holiday schedule.  Vist thebus.org for details. 
     

TRAFFIC/PARKING  

  • On-street parking will be free, except for metered parking lots and the meters on Kalakaua Avenue along Kapiolani Park.
