Two new exhibits will give you more reasons to hang around downtown for pau hana Friday. New pieces collected from galleries and shows from across the state and older art displayed in state offices and buildings find new homes at the Hawaii State Art Museum. Spend some time with the intriguing works, pick up a snack from Downtown@HiSAM or various food trucks, then enjoy award-winning musicians Ledward Kaapana and Eddie Kamae.

What: A beauty queen bites the big one – now the runner-up is on the hunt for the killer on a rampage in Waikiki! Ms. America and the Offing on Oahu definitely won't make any "must read lists", but the tongue-in-cheek murder mystery is easy on the eyes (and does offer a surprise ending) and it's just 99 cents for Kindle.
