Summer Fun
What: It's July, so it's official: swimsuits should be on 24/7. Or at least being shopped for. Enter the Grey Goose Summer Club, where you can lounge in your 'kini at the Modern Honolulu Hotel's gorgeous Sunrise Pool deck and sip cocktails by Grey Goose—while you pick out your next suit. Blonde-bobbed models in fashions by Kaimana Beachwear and BYCHARI jewelry will be a part of a “live display,” with all styles available for purchase at the gift shop. Shopping, drinks and pool time? We hope summer never ends.
Where: The Modern Honolulu, 1775 Ala Moana Blvd.
When: Sunday, June 6 from noon to 6 p.m.
Details: Bottle service guests at Addiction Nightclub this weekend will get “Membership Cards.” Otherwise cover is $10. Free validated parking. Visit the Facebook page for updates.

I'll Toast To That
What: Your family can throw a pretty mean barbecue, if you do say so yourself. But trust us—you won't be able to beat the one at the gorgeous Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian overlooking Waikiki Beach. (Sorry, Mom.) This Independence Day barbecue shindig will feature a beer garden, live entertainment and savory gourmet plates. Even more exciting, the Mai Tai Bar's Second Annual Mixology Contest will happen at 2:30 p.m. at the Monarch Room Ocean Terrace, with Starwood bartenders pitting their top-caliber talents against each other. Cheers!
Where: Mai Tai Bar, Royal Hawaiian Hotel
When: Friday, July 4 from noon to 6 p.m.
Details: For details call 921-4600. What about the evening? Check out our roundup of fireworks displays to plan your night.

Bag Lady
What: Not like we ever need an excuse to shop the fashion, accessories and toys (not to mention gelato) at Kahala Mall, but here's a little more motivation. Now through July 31, when you spend a combined total of $300 at any store, restaurant or at the theaters, you will receive a limited-edition Kahala Mall summer tote with an adorable design by Everything Is Jake! mastermind Nick Kuchar. Looks like you just found this season's beach bag.
Where: Kahala Mall
When: Through July 31
Details: Redeem receipts in the Kahala Mall management office.
Read
Green Monster
What: Warning: This ain’t your feel-good beach read. Touted as a modern day The Bell Jar, Green Monster follows young American girl Ruth in London as she meanders from forgettable job to forgettable job, attempting to navigate a drifting, exciting, anxiety-ridden life in a consumerist world. It’s a darkly funny story oozing self-awareness, perfect for fans of the existential crisis (isn’t that all of us?).
Where: Available on harpercollins.com for $14.99
.
Details: Author Kate Zambreno actually made Jezebel's list of "Kick-Ass and Amazing Women We Love." Ulp.

Closet Case
What: Fashion from the nineties? Let's pretend that didn't happen. Unless we're talking about the sartorial savvy of Cher Horowitz from Clueless. Now, a couple weeks shy of the 18th anniversary of the film's release, online retailer Metail gives the world a chance to channel the Queen of Closets herself with a Cher-themed digital fitting room. With it, you can create a "MeModel" avatar and try on outfits based on ones worn by Cher. Yes, that yellow tartan suit is included.
Where: metail.com
Details: Share your Cher outfit with the tag #shareyourcher for a chance to win a fashion spree and a copy of Clueless on DVD.
Watch
Party Arty
What: Everything from video distribution company Criterion Collection (a favorite among cinema aficioonados) is now on sale for 50 percent off at Barnes and Noble online. That means you can review all your favorite hipster, art-house and vintage films. Think A Hard Day's Night to get your Beatlemania on, or relive your rustic retro phase with Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic. Remember going to indie movie theaters in college for an Akira Kurosawa showing? Throne of Blood is on sale, too. It'll be the most thought-provoking, artistic weekend you've had in years.
Then, go ahead and treat yourself to a viewing of Armageddon (yep, it’s a Criterion). You deserve it.
Where: barnesandnoble.com
Details: Did we mention it's the perfect way to expand your classic movie knowledge? Like what the heck is Picnic at Hanging Rock about? We don't know, but the sepia-toned cover has got us hooked.
