Chinese New Year comes early in 2012 and so do the celebrations. Say goodbye to the year of the rabbit and start ringing in the dragon at this weekend's two-day festival featuring dancing, singing, Chinese fortune readings, and we bet a fair share of gin doi (crispy, fried hollow doughnuts), gau (mochi-like pudding from Chinese brown sugar), and candied fruits.

Dior gives you a double dose of help creating a cool spring look: Free makeup consultations with International Dior Pro Team Artists China's Galvin Lin and Taiwanese photographer Ivan Chiu. and a new ultra-cool and uber wearable camouflage-patterned eye shadow inspired by the craveable Anselm Reyle for Dior collection coming out this month.
When: Consultations are 7-10 p.m. through Sunday.

Toy Stories
It's the last weekend to catch the toy-inspired exhibit at Fishcake – 20 local artists including Mark Chai, Kandi Everett, Sally French, John Koga, and Unleash Studio put their spin on playtime.
When: Toy Show wraps up Saturday. The cool Hawaii-inspired textiles of Japan's Akihiko Izukura opens January 15.
