Lei Chic Watch
Reel Life Inspiration
Ditch the dudes for the kick off of the always empowering Girl Fest. Amid the live entertainment, insightful talks, roller derby, surf, dance, art, and tennis workshops, make sure to catch the premiere of Desert Flower. The story of Waris Dirie, who fled Somalia and an arranged marriage to work as a servant before becoming a supermodel, activist, and best-selling author, shows real girl power.
When: Girl Fest begins at 7 tonight with the art exhibit opening at Manifest. Desert Flower shows tomorrow, 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Venue, 1144 Bethel St.
Details: $5 for students and seniors, $8 general includes admission to the opening night party to follow. See the full schedule of anti-violence events on Girl Fest's website.

Lei Chic Give
Design Up
Use your morning venti cash to support local designer Katrina Langford. The creator of HI State of Mind's chic clothing and accessories created out of vintage scarves is fundraising to rebrand, expand, and hire seamstresses. Pledges start at a dollar, but five or more will come with a thank you gift like Langford's Mai Tai necklace (right) going to those who give $90.
When: Until February 26. If the $7,000 goal is not met all pledges will be canceled.
Details: Read more about the project and see Langford's designs on her kickstarter campaign.

Rack Them Up
The real reason Nordstrom Rack devotees were excited about February 14 is here – the clearance sale that knocks up to 75 percent off winter styles. Start in the shoe section. A whole new batch of big markdowns including Tory Burch, Sam Edelman, Jeffrey Campbell, and Vince Camuto just arrived today.
When: The Clear the Racks sale continues through Monday.
Where: Nordstrom Rack, Ward Center.
Details: Can't get away from your desk? Shipping and returns are free on Nordstrom Rack and Nordstrom's just started shoe sale online.
