6 ways to fashion this weekend into a success.
Attend
Just Your Style
What: You missed the New York Fashion Week boat, but don't worry, Hawaii's got your back. Not only do we have HONOLULU Fashion Week coming up in November and our stylists in NYC right now covering the Big Apple festivities, but this weekend, Ala Moana is hosting its very own high-style soiree, The Fall Fashion Event. Check out fashion shows from designers such as Reyn Spooner, Diane von Furstenberg, Caroline Herrera, Spiral Girl and Ann Taylor. As if that's not sweet enough, there will be cupcakes and DJs throughout the center and in-store demonstrations and promotions. Everything you love about fashion in the Big Pineapple.
When: Fashion shows run Friday, Sept. 12, 6–7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, noon–5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 14., noon–4 p.m. at Centerstage.
Where: Ala Moana Center
Details: We are loving the adorable gift-with-purchase clutch by local designer Jana Lam. Get one when you redeem $200 in Ala Moana receipts this weekend. Visit alamoanacenter.com for more information.

Clothesminded
What: Women. We love clothes. Wearing them, buying them, having them. We love the confidence they give us and the opportunity for expression. In Women In Clothes, the book's editors sent a survey to hundreds of women asking questions about their personal style. The book examines how style reflects a woman's values, politics and social interactions and what it says about the connection between appearance and thoughts. In short: Style isn't just about shopping sprees and sample sales, but something much more.
When: The book is fresh off the presses as of late last week.
Where: amazon.com
Details: $18.98. Tap into the conversation IRL by checking out the Women In Clothes Twitter.

Shop
Right on Target
What: Sept. 14 has been marked on our calendar for weeks for the much-anticipated Target and Altuzarra collab. The lookbook came out last month and features gorgeous, dramatic orchid prints, luxurious textures and sharp, structured silhouettes to make your work wardrobe the edgiest in the office. Target isn't announcing which pieces are at which stores yet, so if you're jonesing for a specific item, you might want to stay up late on Saturday to shop online.
When: The line will be available starting Sunday, Sept. 14
Where: Target, 4380 Lawehana St., and target.com.
Details: Check out the drool-worthy Altuzarra Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear show from Sunday here.

Makeup Your Mind
What: Not that we don't LOVE ourselves, but there's something about the promise of a makeover that makes us all jump for joy. Well, get hopping, because T Galleria Hawaii by DFS is hosting two weeks of beauty events, including makeovers, giveaways, massages and insider tips. This Friday, you won't want to miss the Givenchy Makeup Party, which will have games, refreshments, gifts and—of course—makeovers! Stop off at the Clarins: Candy Bar for goodies for your sweet tooth and skin or at Bobbi Brown for private makeup lessons.
When: Friday, Sept. 12, 7–10 p.m.
Where: T Galleria Hawaii by DFS, 330 Royal Hawaiian Ave.
Details: These and other free beauty events at T Galleria will continue through Sept. 22 from 7–10 p.m. daily. Call 931-2700 for more information.

Watch
A Bond Apart
What: We spy some serious style in your future. Especially now that Skyfall, which has the distinction of being the highest-grossing film of all time in the U.K., is available on Netflix. The film is a swagger-filled win, from James' suave adjustment of his cuff links as he jumps onto the ripped-open train, to Javier Bardem doing basically anything. Don't even get us started on the sexy and fashionable Bond girl Severine, played by Bérénice Marlohe, with her smoky eyes and Swarovski dress. Talk about scene stealer.
When: Available starting today.
Where: netflix.com
Details: You'll be seeing Marlohe again soon. She's slated to be in the upcoming untitled Terrence Malick project which also involves Natalie Portman, Rooney Mara, Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale, so you know it's going to be basically the best thing ever and win, like, 40 Oscars.
Create
Board Room
What: As much fun as shopping is, making something DIY-style can be even more fun. This weekend, CHAI Studio will be hosting a Bohemian Bulletin Board Workshop at which you'll be able to craft your own unique bulletin board (perfect for back-to-school) using CHAI Studio's collection of reclaimed items and up-cycled textiles. Plus, workshop participants receive 20 percent off any block-print product. Score!
When: Sunday, Sept. 14. 2–4 p.m.
Where: CHAI Studio, Ward Warehouse, Suite 1460, near Menchie's
Details: $20. All materials included. Call 536-4543 for more information.
