May Days
What: Hawaiian May!, a new annual event targeting Japanese tourism and fashion, makes its debut this weekend. Paris Hilton and several Japanese models are scheduled to appear. Tonight's kick-off, a food summit on the edge of Waikiki, is free and open to the public and features more than 20 local food trucks, live music, and a fashion panel. Plus, check out Hawaii Fashion Incubator's pop-up shop featuring 14 local designers and interactive DIYs, like a custom T-shirt station by Allison Izu (select your T-shirt and pocket fabric and she'll sew it on, right on the spot!).
When: Tonight, 5-9 p.m.

- Tonight and Saturday, 8-9 p.m., DFS Galleria, 1st floor. Two of Japan's top models share fashion tips and personal stories.
- Saturday, 10 a.m.-noon, The Royal Hawaiian, Coconut Grove. Watch one lucky couple experience the wedding of their dreams, plus a bridal fashion show produced by Watabe Wedding.

What: Makkuro Makkuro, one of our favorite pop-ups, takes over The Box Jelly this Sunday. What: The Wine Stop just received a 70-pound shipment of Kaimana lychee grown on the Big Island's Hamakua coast (when word got out, HONOLULU dining editor-slash-lychee addict Martha Cheng immediately ran out to buy some). The verdict: they're deliciously sweet and expected to sell out fast, so go quick! Pick up a bottle of moscato for the perfect summer pairing.
