For the Friday and Saturday before Mother's Day, 12th Ave Grill has a few specials, such as a scallop Benedict and slipper lobster risotto. 732-9469
Brasserie Du Vin will be open for brunch, lunch and dinner. Brunch specials include a snow crab bisque, braised short rib loco moco on mushroom risotto, and a mix berry stuffed French toast. 545-1115
At Neiman Marcus, there are three options: a three-course lunch at Mariposa ($38), with entree choices including a lobster club, roasted ribeye with horseradish sour cream, and soft-shell crab salad. Dinner at Mariposa is four courses ($55), with ribeye steak or a halibut and spring pea risotto, finishing off with a chèvre cheesecake and verjus syrup. At the Mermaid Bar, enjoy afternoon tea ($50) with mom, featuring dainty bites of lemon currant scone and strawberry butter; butterscotch cream puffs; petit lobster rolls; a savory tomato, basil and parmesan cheesecakes; and classic tea sandwiches of smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese.

For Mother's Day dinner, Chef Mavro offers his mother's pistou soup—a Provencal soup of ham hocks, beans, tomato and salted pork belly—as a complimentary appetizer for all guests. Treat Mom to a four-course dinner at Alan Wong's, which opens with a trio of appetizers: crispy pork belly, ahi sashimi, and Alan Wong’s signature soup and sandwich. Entree options include ginger crusted onaga, cassoulet and a surf and turf with Maui Cattle Co. beef tenderloin and butter poached Kona lobster.

At Chai's Island Bistro, start with Alaskan king crab legs and oysters, then move on to grilled beef tenderloin and Mongolian-style lamb chops, just some of the items available at Chai's Mother's Day dinner buffet. And don't forget dessert: creme brûlée and chocolate mousse cake are among the options.

In addition to the regular menu, Il Lupino offers a set three-course brunch menu with mac nut-sour cream pancakes and eggs Florentine ($23) as well as a set dinner, with a choice between the fish of the day or dry-aged New York steak, accompanied by soup or salad and gelato or sorbet ($50). In addition, the kitchen will send mom home with a jar of the chef's pomodoro sauce.

For something a little different, try Hakkei, which offers home-style Japanese cuisine. On Mother's Day, there's a rice and okazu lunch buffet ($35) and kaiseki dinner ($70).
