Moiliili Summerfest 2015
Thousands came out to eat, shop and dance at Friday’s Moiliili Summer Fest, a huge outdoor event at the old Varsity Theater parking lot presented by Moiliili Hongwanji Mission and Kamehameha Schools.
What makes this particular bon dance so popular? Maybe it was the 20+ food trucks providing oishii summer eats, or the family-friendly entertainment and atmosphere, or maybe it was the neat local pop-up shops, some of which you can only find at this type of event. The heart of it all, of course, was the traditional bon dance around the yagura tower.
