ecognizing that oral and maxillofacial surgery can be life-changing, Dr. David Hiranaka followed his dental and medical training with a fellowship in facial cosmetic surgery, which serves as the foundation for his Kailua-Kona practice. He has been serving the Hawaii community since 1994. “Pursuing advanced training in facial aesthetic surgery is an extension of the skills required for reconstructive surgery and allows me the professional freedom to do my best for my patients,” he says.

The dentist, physician and surgeon graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and obtained his M.D. from Harvard Medical School, followed by a five-year internship/residency in General Surgery and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and concluding with a fellowship in aesthetic facial plastic surgery at the Institute of Facial Surgery in Salt Lake City.

“My team and I strive to improve the patient experience through minimally invasive techniques in implant dentistry and associated jaw reconstruction,” says Dr. Hiranaka. “We utilize evidence-based treatments for facial rejuvenation for both surgical and noninvasive therapies.”

Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Hiranaka offers oral and maxillofacial services (wisdom teeth, dental implants, oral pathology and facial reconstruction) plus full-scope facial cosmetic surgery and skin care, using advanced technologies such as Cone Beam CT navigated dental implant surgery, endoscopic facial surgery and various treatments for facial rejuvenation. His practice was awarded The Gold Seal of Approval® by The Joint Commission.
