The 2014 Tinman Triathlon Hawaii featured a 750m ocean swim in Waikiki, a 40k bike race from Diamond Head to Hawaii Kai and a 10k running course around Diamond Head.
On July 20, tourists and ukulele fans gathered at Kapiolani Park in Waikiki for the Ukulele Festival Hawaii. The event included live entertainment from ukulele players and ukulele lessons.
The Honolulu Joy of Sake event on July 18 featured sakes from the 2014 U.S. National Sake Appraisal, including 370 junmai, ginjo and daiginjo labels. Nineteen restaurants served appetizers to accompany sake tastings.
On July 17, the Bank of Hawaii Foundation presented the third annual Goodwill Goes Glam! fashion show and sale. The event featured more than 40,000 items, including brand apparel, accessories and vintage finds for sale at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.
On Sunday, July 13, the Coconut Chase 8K raised money to support Hawaii charities. Racers wore hula skirts and coconut bras to the event at Kakaako Waterfront Park.
The Hawaii Korean Chamber of Commerce’s annual Korean Festival promoted the Korean culture through food and live entertainment at Ala Moana Beach Park.
The Kailua Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Kailua 4th of July Parade featuring 200 marchers, 40 vehicles, 40 floats parading through Kailua.
Participants enjoyed E.K. Fernandez rides, a circus and live entertainment at Aloha Stadium’s 50th State Fair from May 23 to July 6, 2014.
