On August 31, the Honolulu Museum of Art hosted its monthly Art After Dark event. This month's theme was Beat the Heat, giving a deeper look into the works from their Boardshorts: A Perfect Fit exhibit.

On August 30, hundreds of local business professionals gathered at Aloha Tower for the quarterly Nextworking Professionals Mixer.

The Greek Festival of Hawaii was held at the McCoy Pavilion at Ala Moana Park on August 25 and 26. It's the original, biggest Greek festival in Hawaii.

On August 25, the U.S. Green Building Council, Hawaii Chapter, hosted their 2nd annual Green Gala at Warehouse MR1.1 in Kakaako. This fundraiser celebrated the efforts of local designers, builders and community leaders as they work towards a greener future.

On August 25, the Healthcare Association of Hawaii hosted its 2012 Awards & Scholarship Dinner at Ala Moana Hotel. This year's event was inspired by the dragon, the Chinese zodiac symbol that represents 2012.

Mercedes-Benz of Honolulu hosted an event for Big White and Silver Star, Canada's favorite family ski resorts. The social event gave away a number of door prizes, including a trip for two to the ski resorts.

On August 18, Acura of Honolulu hosted its 2nd annual "Ai on Japan" Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Ko Olina Golf Club. After the golfing, the event featured an awards banquet, silent auction and benefit concert at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.

On August 18, the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii hosted their 16th annual "Walk in the Country" fundraiser at Lanikuhonua at Ko Olina. The event featured food, spirits and a silent auction.

On July 31, USBG held its "Most Imaginative Bartender" competition at Pearl Ultralounge at Ala Moana Center.
