Guide to Mō‘ili‘ili Summer Fest

Food, music, shopping, and even a bon dance. That’s what’s on tap for Saturday’s Mō’ili’ili Summer Fest, a huge outdoor celebration at the old Varsity Theatre parking lot along University Avenue. The event, presented by Mō’ili’ili Hongwanji Mission and Kamehameha Schools, is free and open to the public.

When: July 6, from 5-10:30 p.m.
Where: 1100 University Ave.
Parking: Free parking at the University of Hawaii with shuttle service

Event highlights:

· Honolulu’s largest bon dance

· Emcee Krezy Oshiro from Island 9.85

· Music by Tahiti Rey & Jason Alan, Ukulele Hale, Pacific Buddhist Academy Taiko and Hawaiian Soul

· Traditional Japanese keiki activities, tattoo artist, balloons and a photobooth

· Farm-to-table demonstrations by Hawaiian Island Beef Produce and Otsuji Farm
