6 Ways to Shop and Be Jolly This Weekend
Lei Chic's guide to the weekend's best events.

SHOP
Sweater Weather
What: After hot toddies, our favorite thing about holiday parties has got to be ugly sweaters (we have a pretty considerable collection ourselves). At this Friday’s ugly sweater-themed Art and Flea, you’ll be able to get your fix of all your favorite ironic, fluffy apparel, while doing what you love best: shopping. There will be leather clutches from Seafoam Green, Filthy Farmgirl soaps and Rebelwood Attire for those really last-minute gifts.
When: Friday, Dec. 19, 5–10 p.m.
Where: 1020 Auahi St., Building 3 (behind Marukai Market)
Details: Visit artandflea.com for more information.
WATCH
Go Nuts
What: Call us Christmas nerds, but we have been looking forward to watching The Nutcracker more than anything else (yep, that includes the Game of Thrones premiere). Magic, music and grace all combine into the perfect Christmas story that takes us back to childhood in the most beautiful of ways. It wouldn’t be the weekend before Christmas without it.
When: Ballet Hawai ‘i performances are on Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 21, 2 p.m.
Where: Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall
Details: Tickets range from $40–$111 and are available here.
SHOP
Rumi Has It
What: If you’re as much a fan of the minimal style of beautiful , somewhat melodramatic fashion blogger icon Rumi Neely as we are, you’ll be excited to hear that she released her own line last week. Filled with minimal basics that focus on luxurious fabrics (think silks and lambskin) and subtle details, the line, called Are You Am I, is here just in time for a Christmas self-gifting splurge.
Where: areyouami.com
Details: Check out Rumi’s Instagram page for shots of her modeling the new pieces.
ATTEND
Van Gogh For It
What: Thanks to the awesome selection of beers and delish, unconventional pizzas at Bar 35, we’d rarely pass up an opportunity to head down there. Throw in some sangria and a paint party, and our creative-at-heart selves are putting it at the top of our Saturday to-do list. Paint parties are all the rage this year, and we love that this one really does it right with a make-your-own sangria bar. Let the creating—and sipping!—begin.
When: Saturday, Dec. 20, 5:30–8 p.m.
Where: 35 Hotel St.
Details: $35. Call 808-260-8182 for more information.
SHOP
The Rogue Ahead
What: The Honolulu Night Market team promises that it's saved the best for last this year, with a Night Market to end all Night Markets. Not only will The Pig and the Lady be present for a pop-up dinner that is making us salivate just thinking about it, but there will be enough shopping vendors to make us merry for the rest of the year. Think styles from favorites such as San Lorenzo, Meleana, Genuine Guava and Happy Town Hawai‘i. And if you have room after the pho fest, food vendors include Ono Pops, Fresh Catch and Romi’s.
When: 6–11 p.m. Pop-up dinner is 7–9 p.m.
Where: 449 Cooke St.
Details: See the full list of vendors here.
BROWSE
Wilde Thang
What: Last week, H&M named the gorgeous Olivia Wilde (looking as ethereal as ever in the promo pics) as the new spokeswoman for its Conscious Collection line, which will debut new pieces in April. Since we’re nuts about Olivia’s looks, H&M’s prices and the idea of eco-friendly fashion, we couldn’t be more excited about spring. To get yourself even more stoked, go ahead and scour the H&M site for sustainable pieces on sale now.
When: The new collection comes out April 2015.
Where: hm.com
Details: Remember Amber Valetta’s tenure as the Conscious Collection face? We still dream about those romantic styles.
