At St. Andrew’s Schools, children are encouraged to think, learn and grow, and are challenged to identify their unique talents and interests. In our school’s culture of care, support and love, our students are healthy in mind, body and spirit, which gives them a solid foundation to thrive in school and in life.

Much like our school’s founder, Queen Emma Kaleleonālani, our students and faculty spend each day living our school motto to “Strive for the Highest” —Kūlia i ka Nu‘u. Our school was founded on Queen Emma’s guiding vision to provide girls—especially Native Hawaiians—access to a high-quality education. Since then, we’ve grown to welcome all children, including boys at The Prep and younger children at Queen Emma Preschool.

This coming school year, we’re expanding our reach through the Ke Ali‘i Collaboration with Kamehameha Schools. We’re honored to be a part of this exciting partnership that provides tuition assistance for current and prospective Native Hawaiian students who demonstrate financial need.

Our school is rooted in Hawaiian culture and Christian values, and we believe that building resiliency begins early in life. Preparing students for challenge and success starts with building the whole child. Equipping children with emotional well-being and social skills enhances their academic success.

We believe the first step in a personalized curriculum is acknowledging that boys and girls develop at different rates. We’re Hawai‘i’s only coordinate school, meaning we educate boys and girls separately on the same campus, while bringing them together for social interactions.

Our curriculum nurtures curiosity, autonomy, confidence, critical thinking and knowing and doing the right thing. Academics are rigorous and recognize that learning is a never-ending, evolutionary process. Our award-winning arts program provides a healthy outlet for expression, spiritual opportunities are provided and our athletics programming helps to instill important life skills.

High school students can choose to differentiate their diploma with a Global Leadership Distinction, which provides a solid framework in international affairs, world cultures and religions and leadership skills. All students participate in a unique program—Priory in the City—that leverages our ideal location on the edge of Honolulu’s vibrant business community. Proximity to downtown also enables our students to capitalize on tuition-free college coursework at Hawai‘i Pacific University.

“Priory in the City matches the passions of our high school students with businesses in the heart of the city and allows our young women to develop life skills, build confidence and develop lasting relationships with professionals in fields they are drawn to.”

The future shines bright for our graduates. The class of 2018 received $2.5 million in merit-based scholarship offers from 72 colleges worldwide.

At St. Andrew’s Schools, we’re dedicated to guiding students toward their highest ambitions and inspiring them to have the courage to take appropriate risks, the tenacity to explore leadership opportunities and the humility to place service to others, civility and compassion above all.
