With its time-honored focus on educating the “whole child,” Our Savior Lutheran has a well-earned reputation for balancing a strong academic foundation with choir, band, Japanese, Spanish, and computer instruction; sports teams in the Lutheran Schools’ Sports League; and after-school activities, such as art club, piano, hula, study club and robotics. Students can discover their individual strengths and excel in an interest or passion at this small, diverse and dynamic NLSA & WASC accredited Christian school that welcomes preschool and K-8 students from many backgrounds.

“Our families appreciate our Core Knowledge curriculum sequence (coreknowledge.org) because they see their children grow into knowledgeable, capable and virtuous adults,” says Principal George Evensen. Real-world outcomes remain the focus as the school explores new technologies and learning opportunities in a warm, supportive and much-praised ‘ohana-style environment.

Concentrating on five student outcomes – Have Tools, Understand, Perform, Work Together, and Have Jesus – has created a comprehensive, college preparatory program that develops curiosity, critical thinking, initiative, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, imagination, reflection and character development.

“We believe that all students can learn and that character matters. Our students take responsibility for their learning and their futures,” says Mr. Evensen. Teachers diligently work with students in engaging, interactive classes that are disciplined and respectful.

“The Lord has blessed us, enabling us to provide growth, variety, community and faith for students and their families.”
