One Track Wine

www.leichic.com

You’ve kept it bottled up for too long now: schlepping through giant warehouse aisles of crates trying to decide on a bottle of wine isn’t really any better than the 30-minute drive to a wine shop in town.

No more whining, Hawai‘i Kai. The newly-opened D’Vine Wines at Koko Marina Center is a well-edited bottle boutique stocking wines not found before on the east end of the island.

www.leichic.com

Let them eat cake?

Fine. You’ll take the pie anyway.

As in, authentic southern-style pies from Shelby Sweets, which just opened last week at Nimitz Center.

Owner Phyllis Moore-Shelby has been doing custom baking for weddings and private clients for years as a side venture while she worked full-time as a flight attendant. But she’s settled down now and finally opened a store, where you can mosey in to taste her deep-dish pies, as well as all kinds of other treats that come out of her oven daily.

Each morning brings four flavors of scones (the lemon-blueberry... Read more »

Go With The Flow

www.leichic.comWhen you’ve got cash to spare, it’s easy to close your eyes and roll the dice. But these days who wants to leave success to chance?

That’s why we enlisted nationally acclaimed feng shui consultant Clear Englebert, author of the just-released book “Feng Shui For Hawai‘i” to give some simple solutions to bring positivity and harmony into your life and home. Because right now, every little bit helps.

• For basic empowerment, don’t sleep, work, or spend significant time with your back to the door. If the furniture can’t be reconfigured, use a... Read more »
