Shop

Swim Fan

What: Our Mainland pals may be shopping for fall coats and boots, but we’re still stuck squarely in our bikini obsession. After all, summer never ends in Hawai‘i, so there are still a lot more beach days left in the year for us to fill with suits. Enter San Lorenzo’s end-of-season sale, where you can get up to 50 percent off older collections, clothing and accessories. Plus, spend more than $150 and get a free top. The sale ends this weekend, so swim over ASAP.
When: Through Oct. 18
Where: San Lorenzo Bikinis, Ala Moana Center
Details: Call 946-3200 for more information.

Drink

Cocktail Tease

What: We say sip, sip, hooray for happy hours. Especially when you combine cocktails with shopping, like at Ward Village’s Halfy Hour. Stroll through the center, where guests can score 50 percent off one item at participating stores, snag great savings at 20 shops, and sample beverages and desserts along the way for the girls’ night of your dreams. Pick up a passport on that day to find out which stores are participating and what specialty cocktails will be served.
When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 5–9 p.m.
Where: Ward Entertainment Center, Ward Village
Details: Visit wardvillage.com for more information.

Visit

Power Up

What: Limber up, ladies (and men), because CorePower Yoga, the trending yoga studio that has been taking the Island by storm, just opened a new location in Kailua last week—and you Windward-Side exercise junkies are about to do a lot of sun salutations. After all, what makes CorePower Yoga unique is how it strives to gear more toward fitness-minded people than other yoga programs. The studio targets those who want to work up a sweat but still want to leave their gym with that feeling of inner peace that a good yoga workout gives. And talk about hip: At 300 members strong, there’s already a vibrant community of CorePower enthusiasts to get to know. Mark your calendar for the official grand opening class, happening Nov. 4 at 6:15 p.m.
Where: 629 Kailua Road
Details: Visit corepoweryoga.com for more information.

Shop

That’s A Wrap

What: Looking for a his-and-hers day? Local designer Amos Kotomori will be making a personal appearance at Neiman Marcus this weekend, where you can check out the launch of his latest collection, celebrate his brand’s fifth anniversary and shop for his and her goodies: Kotomori’s iconic men’s button-down shirts and handmade women’s scarves. After all, nothing counts more as quality time than shopping time.
When: Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18 from noon–3 p.m.
Where: Neiman Marcus, Ala Moana Center, The Man’s Store, Level Three
Details: Call 951-8887 for more information.

Shop

To Market, To Market

What: We are serious about Christmas shopping. So much so that we like to do a lot of dry runs before the actual season. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it. Join us at Honolulu Night Market this weekend where we’ll practice sharpening our shopping skills at vendors that include Mikinola, Kainani Swimwear, Tidepool Love, House of Aria and Andy South. To keep our energy up, we’ll definitely visit food vendors such as Funnel Cake Factory and The Pig and the Lady before taking in the fashion show from one of our favorite local designers, Salt Liko, at 8 p.m.
When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 6–11 p.m.
Where: 449 Cooke St.
Details: Visit honolulunightmarket.com for more information.

Eat

Milky Way

What: We know you go cuckoo for cocoa, so this weekend is going to be quite the treat. Shop and munch your way through the Neal S. Blaisdell Center at the Hawai‘i Chocolate Festival, which is happening alongside the Food and New Products Show. You’ll be able to try samples and check out the sweetest lineup of vendors you’ll ever see, such as Hawaiian Crown, Hawaiian Nougat, Choco Le‘a, Aloha Chocolate Co., Bit of Sugar and more.
When: Friday, Oct. 16, 5–9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m.–9 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Where: Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall
Details: $20 admission ticket includes chocolate-tasting passport for 10 samples, plus entry to the Food and New Products Show. Visit hawaiichocolatefestival.com for more information.
