Estuaries' retro-inspired swim line

In Haute Water

Is it just us or are we in the 1960s, brainstorming our latest ad campaign while chain smoking and drinking cocktails before noon?

Just us, huh?

Hey, don't judge. You'll go Mad too once you see Estuaries' debut collection of swimsuits and coverups with slightly retro yet super sexy silhouettes.

The line is helmed by Zhu Ru and Layla Chen, sisters who grew up in Honolulu and now live in New York City. Their mission: to create classic, functional pieces that can be worn in and out of the water for a seamless blend of beach culture and city life.

Hit the beach in the Hudson, a sleek jumpsuit with flattering V-neck, side cutouts and boyshort hem, or the Mekong, a sweet two-toned bandeau halter top and ruched bikini bottom. Trust us, you'll never be Pegged as a fashion victim.

Then throw on a washable mesh tank top (that converts into a bag with one zip) or a wrap that transforms from a towel to a perfectly draped coverup, dress or skirt, and you'll be ready for a hot night on the town.

Or a hot night in your office.

If you really want to be authentic.

$175-$356. Estuaries is available at Guava Shop, 66-165 Kamehameha Hwy. in Haleiwa, and Ginger & Koi, 75-5626 Kuakini Hwy. in Kailua-Kona. Click here for more information.
