Hot Button Issue
Now that you’ve found a pair of jeans that fit your figure to a T, the belt loops are strictly for decoration only.

So what to do now to make your waistband cute as a button?

Hawai‘i Kai resident Jacci Delaneau had a good idea – she would pin a brooch to her jeans to jazz them up, but the pin usually broke or she would accidentally stab herself. So she created Hip Heirlooms – a line of Swarovski crystal accessories that can slide over the buttons of jeans, skirts or shorts.

In a quick rise to fame, Delaneau was recently invited to an Emmy Awards gifting suite, where celebrities such as Twilight’s Rachelle Lefevre and House’s Olivia Wilde got their pick of the unique accessories.

Among the stars’ favorites were the Queen Anne, a classic, antique brooch design, and the Cherry Blossom, a pink bloom of ultra-girly florals. With about 14 styles to choose from, you’ll have plenty of ways to dress up your drawers without the added bulkiness of belts.

Proving that sometimes it’s good to be out of the loop.

Hip Heirlooms are available at Riches in Kahala Mall. Visit to view a few styles.
