The Look For Less
Last week’s big financial bill might save the economy, but it won’t rescue your fashion budget. So in order to fill up your tank and your closet you’re going to have to look for creative ways to save.
Good thing Buddha Boutique just opened Saturday in the heart of Lihue, where co-owner Chantel Hammond offers a price range for every recession-nista. The shop is stocked with bargains from $14 to $25, as well as name brands and plenty of Hawai‘i designers like Roberta Oaks, Fighting Eel, and Indah. She’s also brought in handmade one-of-a-kind designs like those by Machine Machine and Akane.
And to rescue Kaua‘i girls from a limited island selection of mostly cheap or overpriced accessories, there are plenty of trendy, high-quality handbags tagged at a mere $30 to $60, and a wealth of jewelry, belts, and sunglasses all in one convenient location at a cost that won’t put your balance to the red.
Which means you can still keep up with fashion, but at sustainable prices.
Talk about a bailout.
