Late adds to Lei Chic's guide to the weekend's best events
Weekend Picks - Saturday, December 1, 2012
What: Even though it's only been open for two days, 33 Butterflies is already attracting major buzz in Kahala Mall. Its hard to believe the space, which now resembles a Soho-style loft with concrete floors and an exposed brick wall, once housed Kahala Kids. Now, shoppers can find colorful silk dresses, perfectly draped sweaters, embellished tees and city chic jewelry. Stay tuned for Lei Chic's full report on 33 Butterflies in the coming week.
Where: Kahala Mall, next to Super Citizen.
Details: The store's website is still under construction. In the meantime, you can visit its Facebook page and sign up for email updates.
What: Fans of Thread and Stone's raw-edged stone and hand-hammered jewelry, rejoice! The line's second collection, City and Far, is now available online. Former local girls Alana Mock and Nicole Cabebe infused this series with a gothic undertone, producing stunning pieces like a custom Victorian-style cross collar necklace and reversible body piece with faceted lapiz tiers.
Details: $58-$124. Click here to shop.
What: Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas' "Locally Grown" December menu debuts tomorrow night and the lineup is especially tantalizing - Shinsato Farm steamed pork belly with brie cheese, ginger, shiso and pork guisantes sauce, panko seared monchong with fettucine, Kahuku corn, Waialua asparagus and romesco sauce, and Kula strawberry creme caramel.
When: Sundays and Mondays through December 30, except Monday, December 24.
Where: Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas, Restaurant Row.
Details: $35, add $13.95 for wine pairings. Call (808)533-4476 for reservations.
Right On, Target
What: Just a reminder, you can now shop the coveted Target and Neiman Marcus Collection featuring 24 CFDA designers. Several items sold out on Neiman Marcus' website shortly after midnight, but so far, no sign of a Missoni-caliber frenzy.
Where: Target, 4380 Lawehana St., and Neiman Marcus, Ala Moana Center.
Details: Click here and here to shop.
What: Ecolicious designers and local artists Carol D'Angelo and Dexter Doi are hosting a holiday sale in their Kaneohe art studio.
