The Eat Is On

Leaner times have you eating in a lot lately. But if there were ever a time to loosen your belt, it’s this week, when more than 40 local restaurants are offering special dishes, discounts and tasting menus as part of the first Restaurant Week Hawai‘i.
Eat out anywhere from Alan Wong’s to Zippy’s, and order the special meal deals offered only this week. Vino has a four-course menu for $35, Side Street Inn has local brews like Mehana, Keoki And Maui Brewing for $2.50 each, and 12th Avenue Grill is bringing back their Kim Chee Steak.
The week long feeding frenzy is all to benefit the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head, and its drive to build a new culinary school – proceeds from every special dish ordered will go to the fundraising effort.
So go on, eat your heart out.
