Crave Rider

www.leichic.com

The south shore is going off this weekend, and there’s gonna be some huge action in town.

The news that’s making waves?

Storto’s, the Hale‘iwa post-surf-session sandwich shop, is opening its second location in Kaimuki today.

A North Shore institution since 1977, Storto’s keeps their loyal following hooked on the massive, 15-inch sandwiches such as the Rocky Point (roast beef, ham, pastrami), Velzeyland (pepperoni, ham, salami), and the best-selling Sunset (roast beef, ham and turkey).

The always-fresh, local ingredients are piled high on Storto’s legendary sweet French bread − made from owner Pam Jett’s recipe that she perfected 25 years ago − then topped with their claim to fame, Storto’s own papaya seed dressing.

Taste for yourself tonight, when there will be live bands, giveaways, a gallery showing by surf photographer Clark Little, and of course, plenty of sandwiches.

Just like any epic day, you’ll want to get your spot in the lineup early.

Storto’s Deli & Sandwich Shoppe, 3184 Waialae Avenue (mauka side, near 4th Avenue), 808.739.2009. Grand opening party tonight at 6 p.m.
