Green House Effect
What: The Earth Day celebration at Pacific Home is a crash course in greening up your house. Take in the photo exhibit of the Good Home on Maui , Hawaii ’s first LEED Gold certified residence. Pacific Home did the interiors and the house’s builder, Shane Jackson of Towne Island Homes will be discussing the eco-elements that make the home especially environmentally friendly. Plus, see the work of three artists working with sustainable materials. North Shore photographer Clark Little’s wave photos will be displayed in frames made from recycled
jalousie window frames, local sculptor Chris Reiner will bedisplaying sculptures made from items he finds on the street, and get the first peek at Pacific Home’s new, exclusive Heavenly Home line of reclaimed furniture from Mu‘umu‘u Heaven designer Deb Mascia.

Art After Dark: Conserve E(art)h
What: This month’s Art After Dark at the Honolulu Academy of Arts is the last chance to see The Dragon's Gift: The Sacred Arts of Bhutan, and to take a mini- tour explaining the conservation of Bhutanese thangkas (tapestries). Check out the lounge inside the geodome installation and the works by local artists made of recycled materials. Sip cocktails mixed with the locally-made, organic Ocean vodka, including a special take on a Bloody Mary with Big Island grown spirulina.
